忙しかった2009年のPSBを、ざっくりですが振り返ってみたいと思います。

２月１8日、イギリス音楽界で最も権威のあるBrit AwardのOutstanding Contribution To Music (功労賞)受賞

当然と言えば当然の、２５年目の活躍のご褒美。これでPSBの人気が再燃し、２００３年のベスト盤「Popart」が再びアルバム・チャート・イン。Brit Awardはイギリスで生中継されるが、その翌日に発売されたUKでの凱旋ライブ(４ヶ月後)のチケットは、即日ソールド・アウトになった。

UK３月２３日、日本３月１８日、１０枚目のスタジオ・アルバム「YES」発売

(何故か日本のEMIでは、断固として”９枚目”と主張…全部、日本版出ているのに？)。ブライアン・ヒギンズ率いるプロジェクト・チームXenomaniaと組んだこのアルバムは、「史上最高」とも言われ、UKアルバム・チャートで４位にランクイン。１９９３年の「Very」(UK１位)以来のトップ５入りを果たす。年末の２００９年回顧企画でも、ベスト・アルバムに名を挙げられた。

ワールド・ツアー“Pandemoniumツアー”開始

６月から１２月まで、ヨーロッパ→南北アメリカ→ヨーロッパ、の５０か所以上のツアーをこなす。２０１０年のアジア来訪が待たれます。
リスト化してみると、働き過ぎではないかと、ちょっと心配になります。
ちなみに2010年、12月21日のロンドン公演を撮ったものがDVD・CD化される予定です。
